The Dick Black Estate Sale was a unique public exhibition and sale celebrating the life and work of acclaimed Dayton artist Harry Richard "Dick" Black. Held at the Dayton Visual Arts Center in October 2014, the event showcased thousands of original works spanning more than five decades of artistic production, offering visitors an unprecedented look into the vast creative archive of one of the region's most influential artists. Filling the gallery with paintings, illustrations, sketches, and graphic design pieces, the exhibition provided a rare opportunity to experience and acquire artwork from the prolific creator whose career included contributions to iconic American advertising and visual culture.
Responsibilities:
• Assisted with planning and execution of a large-scale public art exhibition and estate sale.
• Organized and inventoried hundreds of artwork pieces for display and sale.
• Coordinated product staging and presentation to enhance visitor engagement and purchasing experience.
• Provided on-site customer service, answering questions and assisting attendees throughout the event.
• Managed phone inquiries and supported operational activities during the exhibition.
